Center for Exceptional Leadership at St. Norbert College Names New Executive Director

Dean Stewart, a 1988 graduate of St. Norbert College, has been named the new executive director of the Center for Exceptional Leadership (CEL) at St. Norbert, effective today.

"Leadership development and economic development go hand-in-hand, and Dean Stewart's experience in these two areas is exceptional," said Dave Wegge, interim dean of the Schneider School of Business & Economics at St. Norbert. "Stewart is a seasoned business leader himself. He has already worked with many of the businesses and organizations that the Center for Exceptional Leadership will be providing services to. We couldn't be more pleased to have Dean Stewart join the St. Norbert College family and the Center for Exceptional Leadership."

Stewart comes to St. Norbert from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC), where he was the dean of corporate training and economic development. Stewart led multiple business units within NWTC, including adult continuing education and professional development, the center for entrepreneurship and small business initiative, and economic development and strategic partnerships.

Stewart was also vice president for Sanimax Inc., an environmental solution provider in the agri-food industry. He was responsible for the management of the Sanimax team in the United States from 2009-2012.

Stewart is on the boards of directors for the Green Bay Area Boys and Girls Club, Bay Area Workforce Development and Brown County United Way. He is also a committee member on Global New North.

Stewart takes over for Tom Wiltzius, the founder of the Center for Exceptional Leadership, who stepped down from his volunteer role as the executive director of the CEL at the end of 2017.

Created to provide development opportunities for the region's senior and emerging business leadership, the CEL offers a highly individualized program of assessment, planning, development, coaching and mentorship, all focused on building confident, visionary champions of an organization's mission.

Emphasizing character and principles, the CEL develops leaders who will drive sustainable success for their organization, its people and their community.

The Center for Exceptional Leadership draws on an extensive network of expert, certified professionals, both to conduct leadership assessments and to deliver individual and cohort-driven development experiences.
